CAP History

The development of the Capacity Analysis program (CAP) started in the earl 1980s from PMB Engineering, Inc. as a joint industrial project sponsored by several large oil and gas companies. Later, Bechtel purchased PMB Engineering and continued its support of CAP until 1999. The ownership of CAP was then transferred to RWLRPE, Inc. In 2005, for the long-term benefits of CAP users, RWLRPE, Inc. transferred the title of CAP to CAPFOS, Inc. Since then, CAPFOS, Inc. has become the owner of CAP and is  expanding rapidly her development and support of CAP to the oil and gas industry.

Originally, CAP was developed in a UNIX machine under the X Window System. But only within a year after CAPFOS, Inc. become the owner of CAP (in December 2005), the Windows version of CAP was released. The Windows version of CAP utilizes the technology from Microsoft, .NET frameworks. By December 2006, The Windows version of CAP was already proved to be far superior than that of the Unix version. Since then, CAPFOS, Inc. focuses only on the Windows version of CAP. CAP can run on any PC with 32 or 64-bit (x86 or x64) MS Windows OS and its 3D rendering based on DirectX+.

Now, the popularity of CAP is growing quickly among companies in the oil and gas industry.
